Hot Springs

Hot Springs is located at the southern edge of the Black Hills and considered the “Banana Belt” of the Black Hills, with a unique micro-climate, providing milder winters and warm summer days with little to no humidity.

Home of the VA Medical Center, the States Veterans Home and a newer hospital, it’s known as a wellness community. But, everyone can find a reason to love Hot Springs with its award-winning golf course and its wonderful man-made lake, Angostura Reservoir.

The Fall River Hot Air Balloon Festival occurs here every August. And, whether visiting or moving here, you must spend time at the Mammoth Site—an active paleontological excavation of Ice Age Animals!
